Multilingual Communications
in Emergencies and Natural Disasters

Tuesday 12 November 2024, 12pm AEDT

Fires, storms, floods, even pandemics – emergencies and natural disasters are an unfortunate reality in Australia and globally.

Before, during, and after emergencies, people in Australia need effective communication to stay aware, prepared, and informed. During emergencies, rapid communication can save lives. And after emergencies, support is needed for recovery.

But how do we do all of this when trying to reach over one million people in Australia who have low English proficiency and use a language other than English at home?

How do we navigate the intersections of culture and language to communicate effectively?

Join us on Tuesday, 12th November, at 12pm AEDT for a comprehensive one-hour webinar tailored specifically for communications and marketing managers, project officers, and professionals in the Australian Government, State Government, Local Councils, not-for-profit organisations, and creative agencies.
